Turning a dream in to reality for the eighth time Steve and Jo Mitcham opened their property for the Gidgestock Music Festival. With most genres of music included ranging from the hard rock of Amberdown to the gentle acoustic vibes of Bev Abela and most things in between this is a festival for music lovers. With excellent support by the sound and light crew who volunteer their time everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. Dancing and camping under the stars is always a refreshing experience, while listening to gifted musicians during the day, while avoiding the harsh sun rays, is always a fun way to pass the day. With three food vans offering a wide selection of culinary treats and a #greenmachine coffee van to help power you through the weekend there is not much lacking for the festival goers. The festival profits go to the volunteer and health research organisations. This year the beneficiaries are local West Gidgeeganup volunteer Bush Fire Brigade, the Leukaemia Foundation and Zero 2 Hero mental health. Also assistance is provided to the volunteer organisations BAS & Harley Davision Club and Shalom House who help make this smooth running event happen. In summary another excellent event and the count down is already on for next year. Line-up Friday: Face the Day (Angels tribute), The Rough Housers (rockabilly), Brandon Poletti & The Eagleton Brothers (contemporary country and folk rock), Chain Reaction (classics of rock and dance). Saturday: Redhouse (blues tribute band), The Flares (classics of rock and dance), Satisfaction Guaranteed (explosive original 70’s/80’s flavoured rock n roll), Brothr Bear (original indie rock), Amberdown (original this century hard rock), Moth Street Artists (original spinning top indie rock), Brothers in Arms (Dire Staits tribute), Louis Redeiro and The Blues Machine (original & tribute blues rock shredding machine and musician), Electric State (original indie hard rock madness and joy), Moonlighters (classics of rock and dance), Bradley Hall (soulful country rock), Dr Soul (classic funk soul dance tribute), The U-Nites (reggie), Coastal Drift (classics of rock and dance).
